UNDP Nagaland SDG Dashboard — state-wide monitoring
Real-time SDG monitoring dashboard powering evidence-based decisions across line departments — the digital backbone of Nagaland's SDG strategy.
The challenge
Nagaland's SDG monitoring data lived in dozens of department silos — health, education, agriculture, environment — in formats that ranged from Excel to printed annexures. The State Planning Department could not produce a single live view of where the state stood on the 17 SDGs, nor identify which districts were lagging on which indicator. UNDP needed a dashboard that bureaucrats and elected representatives would actually use.
Our approach
Indev co-designed the Nagaland SDG Dashboard with the State Planning Department and UNDP — an indicator-keyed data platform that ingests from line departments on a defined cadence, normalises to the SDG indicator framework, and surfaces district-level performance through an interactive dashboard. Built to UNDP visual identity standards with an explicit non-technical-user brief.
Technology stack
- SDG indicator data model (17 goals × district)
- Department ingestion pipelines
- GIS choropleth + trend charts
- Role-based access (state / district / department)
- Self-serve report export
Impact in the field
The dashboard is now the State Planning Department's reference view for SDG-aligned planning. Departments that previously sent annual PDFs now contribute to a live system, and Nagaland's SDG India Index narrative is built directly off the platform.
